Crystals, rocks, geology - our foundation stones
The rocks beneath our feet, have evolved over millions of years. Crystals grow, just like we do, over great lengths of time. Salt crystals can be grown at home in a matter of days, whilst diamonds are produced around 70 miles beneath the surface of the Earth, under extremes of pressure and heat.
Crystals come in all shapes, sizes and colours. The well known shapes and size of crystals appears as a result of the processes under which they were formed. The three known processes are: igneous rocks, sedimentary rocks and metamorphic rocks.
Igneous rocks - formed from the slow cooling and hardening of the red-hot volcanic magma
sedimentary rocks - are changed by the environment, weathering and the dissolving and leaching of minerals
Metamorphic rocks - were the immense heat and pressure of slow movement creates something new
There are 8 recognised internal crystal structures within crystals. These internal gemstone structures can be shown to relate directly to human personality types. These structures are: Cubic, Hexagonal, Triclinic, Monoclinic, Trigonal, Tetragonal, Orthorombic and Amorphous.
To allow crystal work to link directly to Astrology and to Homeopathy I have supplemented these crystal structures with "plant material sediment" and "deep sea water" - an extremely important, yet completely fluid, state.
The following pages show the differing crystal structures with a brief description of the personality type associated with each and some crystal examples.
As people we relate to each other creatively, with duty and responsibly, and with knowing. As a mirror to this, crystals relate to us in a specific way.
Thus we will connect specifically to at least 3 different crystals, one for our creativity, another for our sense of responsibilty and duty, and a third to support our individual spirit.
* Creativity a free-flowing, female-centred, right-brain energy
** Duty & responsibily, male, left-brain logic, rational energy
*** Spirit, universal motivational, ethical and humane energy

A. Crystal creation - the geological process
Crystals form as a reaction to their environment. They take up and incorporate the mineral elements that surround them. Minerals like copper, aluminium and zinc. These are all elements that are vital to human life as well, and human evolution. I believe that there exists a subtle, yet essential, connection between the natural geological creation of crystals and our human experience here upon the Earth.
B. Crystal structures - the internal aspect
C. Crystal empathy - our own unique spirit
